Frozen Cranberry Dessert Recipe (with Stonyfield Yogurt Substitution)

frozen cranberry dessert recipe

As we prepare for Thanksgiving later this week I'm looking forward to one of my favorite holiday dishes; my Grandmother's frozen cranberry dessert.  This year I decided to swap out the sour cream with some healthier Stonyfield Greek yogurt. Did you know that you can substitute Stonyfield yogurt for sour cream, butter, mayonnaise, heavy cream, oil, and buttermilk?  Stonyfield Greek yogurt is fat free, lower in calories, organic and GMO-free.  With all the other indulgences on Thanksgiving it's nice to know that I'll be replacing some of the higher fat ingredients a more nutritious yogurt.  You can refer to the Stonyfiled Yogurt Substitution Guide to see the recommended amount of yogurt to substitute for your favorite ingredients. Frozen Cranberry Dessert Ingredients: 1 can whole cranberry sauce 1 small can crushed pineapple 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 bag mini marshmallows 1 cup Stonyfield Greek yogurt (plain) Directions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl until well ... Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving friends!  I hope and pray that you all have a fabulous day with family and friends. Me?  I'll have a quiet day with my kids while my husband works in the morning.  Then we'll have a quiet Thanksgiving dinner with just the 4 of us.  No huge meal plans, no fancy table settings, no friends or extended family - just the 4 of us!  I may not even clean my house for dinner and try to enjoy the day playing with my kids.  The weather is so gorgeous still in Florida that I'm sure we'll be outside most of the day. Tonight I made the first part of our little Thanksgiving meal, my dads Frozen Cranberry Salad (a yummy dessert). Ingredients: Container of sour cream (Small or large depends on how many you are feeding) Whole cranberry sauce - 1 can Crushed pineapples, drained - 1 can Mini-marshmallows - about 1-2 cups (again depending on how many you are feeding) Handful of chopped pecans Directions: In a freezer safe dish or pan mix all of the ... A Glance at Thanksgiving Week

I'm full of emotions this week as we lead up to Thanksgiving.  I'm usually really excited about Thanksgiving because it means spending time with family and friends - and Black Friday shopping.  Over the past few years we've started some new traditions in our family.  We have spent Thanksgiving Day with family (either mine or my husbands - we try to alternate each year) then we'll leave the kids with the Grandparents in the morning as we go watch all the craziness of Black Friday shopping.  We don't usually go out looking for bargains but more for people watching.  We normally end up eating a late breakfast or early lunch before we head home to nap.  This year our traditions are changing a bit due to our schedules. My husband is working on Thanksgiving Day so we won't be going to visit family - and the family isn't coming to us either.  With my new job I'm scheduled to work off-and-on over the Thanksgiving weekend since Black Friday and Cyber Monday are some of our biggest sale days ... Eco-Holiday Gift Guide 2009

I think I'm in denial, is Thanksgiving really next week?  Where has 2009 gone?  It was just yesterday that I was on bed rest with Lil' B unsure of what was going to happen next.  She ended up being born on January 4th, 2009.  And here we are again, almost a year later!  We now have a toothless little 6 yr old boy and a crawling and clapping (our newest talent) 10 month old girl.  Thanksgiving will be spent with hubbies family and Christmas will be spent with mine.  I really love all the decorations and food and time off of work.  I love trying to find just the right gift for the special people in my life and this year I'm going to try to make it as green as possible.  This year I have put together a list of my favorite environmentally friendly gift items.  I'm so excited that in addition to the gift guide many of the companies have offered up giveaways and coupons for my readers.  So cuddle up with me and start making your shopping list!  One part of the gift guide that I'm ...
