New from Rumparooz Cloth Diapers – Sherbert!

Rumparooz Sherbert

There's quite a few fun things releasing in the cloth diaper industry this week!  Another one of my absolute favorite brands is Rumparooz.  They are coincidentally, also from Colorado!  They revealed some fun new prints and this gorgeous pink color at the ABC Kids Expo last month.  You can FINALLY purchase Sherbert today at your favorite cloth diaper retailers. Sherbert is a beautiful bright pink that is perfect for your little princess; but even a prince would wear this vivid color!  Real mean wear pink, right!! Why do I love Rumparooz? The owners, Julie & Chad, are hilarious in person.  They have an amazing sense of humor and Julie scares me daily with pictures of spiders (I'll spare you the details).  Julie started the company in her home when her own infant was having reactions from disposables.  Julie's mom taught her how to sew at a young age so she decided to sew diapers for her child.  That is how the Rumparooz family of diapers were born.  Where would we be today ... Dinosaur Rawr Baby Shower Food Ideas

Baby Shower Food Ideas

A good party is never complete without a few yummy treats!  For my dinosaur themed baby shower, I kept snacks simple and (mostly) healthy. Dino-Treats For the herbivore, serve up some raw fruits and vegetables and dip.  Raw carrots and broccoli make a fun display; pair with a simple ranch dressing for your guests to nibble on.  Blueberries and grapes can act as "dino eggs" and are a no-mess treat for all ages.  For something a little sweeter, different candy may also look like "dino eggs;" such as lemonheads or jellybeans. I used a giant clothespin from Michael's to hold the "Dino-Treats" sign.  You can download and print these dinosaur eggs (PDF format). I kept things really simple for this shower but here are some other ideas I found while searching through blogs and on Pinterest. From the Cloth Diaper Geek - Cloth Diaper Crescent Rolls I've created a Dinosaur Rawr Pinterest Board that includes some more fun food ideas.  Click over to Pinterest for more fun ... [ Read More ]

Angelic Baby Shower Gifts for Mom & Baby

Mama & Baby Care Basket

Ask my friends, I don't do traditional baby shower gifts.  I rarely even look at someone's baby registry because I know exactly the types of items that the new mom will swoon over. Even if they are not planning on using cloth diapers, I usually give them just a little touch of cloth in their gift.  I always give them a copy of Changing Diapers book by Kelly Wels and I usually highlight a few of my favorite sections.  With the book I usually try to give them just one cloth diaper so they can touch it, feel it, and maybe even use it for one of their new baby photos (because they are just so much cuter in pictures than disposables).  Yes, I have friends who have never used their cloth diaper, but I hope that it will find it's way to a mom who will show it some love. Next up, I like to shower the new mom with some angelic gifts from Earth Mama Angel Baby.  Most people forget to give the mom things that are just for her and her changing body.  Regardless of if the mom is having a ... Dinosaur Rawr Baby Shower Decoration Ideas #FluffinAwesome

Baby Shower Food Ideas

Decorating for a baby shower can be one of the most fun (and sometimes stressful) parts of planning a baby shower.  Here is a roundup of fun ideas for a Dinosaur themed cloth diaper baby shower. Click back to yesterdays post for directions on how to build the cloth diaper cake pictured above. Use some of the smaller baby gifts for decorations!  Balm Baby Diaper Balm and Molly's Suds were used to help decorate the cloth diaper cake.  You could also hang baby clothes from the clothesline on the wall. Include your food in the decorating.  Blueberries, candy, and carrots were all included in this theme.  The giant clothespin (found at Michael's) can be used many different ways.  We used it to label the Dino-Treats for the guests. Larger clothespins (also found at Micheal's) were used for the wall decorations and hold a few cloth diapers, along with a ribbon streamer decorated with baby dinosaur eggs.  Each dinosaur egg has a sweet saying such as baby boy, ... Dinosaur Rawr Cloth Diaper Cake Tutorial #FluffinAwesome

Cloth Diaper Cake Dinosaur Theme

Diaper cakes have become a very popular baby shower gift these days and some of them are absolutely adorable.  The problem with most diaper cakes though is that they are created using disposable diapers.  Nothing is more disappointing for a mom who plans on using cloth diapers than receiving a disposable diaper cake at their shower.  If you are planning a baby shower for someone who is planning on using cloth diapers, here is a quick tutorial for how to incorporate cloth diapers into a diaper cake for about the same amount of money. This cloth diaper cake is made up of 3 tiers with a baby legging cupcake topper.  It rests on a bucket that I found at the Dollar Store this summer.  I used mostly flat cloth diapers to make up each tier but you could easily use swaddle blankets or cloth diaper inserts (from pocket diapers) to make up the tiers.  The top tier was created with a pack of flannel cloth baby wipes and a flat diaper.  All of the ribbons and accessories were from the craft ... Great Cloth Diaper Change 2014 – Official Guinness World Record Results

Great Cloth Diaper Change 2014

It's official, there is a new world record for the "most people changing diapers in 24 hours (multiple venues)" with 8,459 participants.  There were 188 official locations in 18 countries this year.   We broke last years record by 158 people!!   The Great Cloth Diaper Change is an annual event hosted by the Real Diaper Association to help raise awareness of cloth diapers around the world.  This is the 4th year and each year we've continued to break the previous years' record.  The event was the brainchild of Judy Aagard and her desire to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a cloth diaper family event for the customers and fans of Tiny Tots.  Other cloth diaper enthusiasts in the community were eager to join forces and the Great Cloth Diaper Change was born. I've been involved each year on some level and so proud to see the growth each year.  My first year (2011) I was an official witness in Tampa, FL.  In 2012 I was a co-host and helped organize the Tampa event.  In 2013 I ...
