Green Your Vagina with Cloth Pads (and a giveaway)

Green Your Vagina with Cloth Pads @TheEcoChic Yes, you can “green” your vagina by using cloth pads.

Late last week I shared my opinions on how to have a greener period (menstrual cycle) by using cloth pads, menstrual cups, or other more natural options.  One of my favorite cloth pad companies is Pink Lemonade.

The owner of Pink Lemonade is a work-at-home mom (Sue), who has 4 children.  The Etsy Pink Lemonade shop has been open since 2007 and is incredibly popular and well known for their high quality fabrics, fun prints, and superior products.  Sue herself is a self-proclaimed “fabric snob” and only uses the very best fabrics such as; hand dyed bamboo velour, luxurious soft minky, and designer cotton wovens.

Pink Lemonade cloth menstrual pads are available in a wide variety of sizes to fit all women and flow; including postpartum pads.  Sue has been kind enough to giveaway one $25 credit to her store to a lucky Eco Chic reader.  To enter follow the steps in the Rafflecopter application.

Disclosure: Samples of the Pink Lemonade line of cloth pads were provided to The Eco Chic free of charge to review.  All opinions are my own.

I currently do not use cloth pads. It’s a fairly new concept to me, but I love the idea! I’m sure they feel super soft against down there. I’d love to try them!

i use cloth pads right now. havent tried the cup yet. not too sure about it for me. im in the mind that things shouldnt be ‘up there’ unless its natural.

  23. bridget kelly says:

I currently am pregnant but used the “diva cup” & “Luna Cup”, I love cups for the same reason I love cloth diapers, I will never run out, super convenient, saves money and landfill space and is much more comfortable. I have not used cloth pads but will certainly need them after giving birth!

i use pads at night or when I’m not sure if my . will start, so I’d love to add to my small stash. These were also great during my m/c because they were soft and didn’t chafe after weeks of bleeding.

  28. Stephanie O says:

I am currently not using either. I haven’t talking myself into spending the money on them and because it is a new concept for me. How do you wash/care for them.

  29. Cat W. says:

I use a few cloth pads, but don’t currently have enough for a whole cycle. Cups are out for me for personal health reasons (nothing to do with the cup; I have trouble wearing tampons, too).

  30. Patricia says:

I have the diva cup and love it I’m definitely looking for mama cloth panty liners

  31. Kyna says:

Love cloth. Tried a diva cup but, didn’t like it. I’ll stick with cloth. :)

  32. ChristinaG says:

I’m only 4 weeks postpartum but normally I use the Diva Cup for my period. I also have mama cloth and use it as a backup for the cup.

I am pregnant, no no periods, just fuzzy soft cotton velour liners for me.

Right now I use disposable but really want to make the switch.

  36. Rebecca says:

I use a Diva cup, but would love some pads for postpartum!

  37. Claiborne says:

I don’t use either. Is probably that I don’t know enough about them or the investment cost.

  38. K Snell says:

I have a Diva cup and some WAHM mama cloth. I’m not using them now since I’m pregnant. But I am planning to get some postpartum mama cloth. Love these fabrics!

  39. Irene Sommerfeld says:

I just acquired some mama cloth fairly recently. I was only able to use them for the tail end of my last cycle so I don’t have a lot of experience with them. I also purchased a cup, but it didn’t come in time to use it. I liked my mama cloth and I love the concept of the cup :) I can’t wait to try them both on my next cycle. If I had to make a prediction, I would say that I would prefer the cup, but still want to wear a pad for security.

  40. kimberly says:

Would love to invest in these for post baby!

  41. Elisha says:

    I love pink lemonade!!!

  42. Julie L. says:

  43. Jennifer Collins says:

I love mamma cloth! I need more.

  44. Melissa says:

I recently won a lunette cup. Have yet to use it though, I am nursing my 13 month old with no sign yet of my monthly cycle. But the crazy thing, I am looking forward to my period so I can try it out. I would like some re-usable panty liners though, have never used them, but since I switched to cloth diapers with my son, I feel like there is no reason why I shouldn’t switch to cloth pads! Thanks for the giveaway!

  45. Michelle says:

I’m looking to start my mama cloth stash.

  46. Sadie says:

I don’t currently use cloth. But am interested in trying them.

  47. Bethany Schad says:

I use a Diva cup and cloth as a back up!

  48. Liana W. says:

I use the Lunette (and LOVE it) along with thong liners. Although leaks are far and few between, I’m perpetually paranoid, so I always wear a liner. I also used postpartum cloth, part time, after the birth of our first, and hated every time I had to grab a disposable, so I’ve been stocking up on pp cloth for the newbie due this summer!

  49. Mandy says:

I currently don’t have a cycle as I am expecting baby number two but am very curious about the “greener” way of taking care of my cycle when it returns!

  50. I own a few fuzzi bunz pads, but have never used a cup.
I’ll be using mama cloth post partum for the first time in just a few weeks!
    Excited!
    Thanks for the chance!
