Does Green Smell?
Yes, The Eco Chic is still alive! After Earth Day and another eco-event I was involved in I decided to take some time off and rejuvenate myself! But never fear…The Eco Chic is here! (No, I’m not a Super Hero!)
I was talking with a vendor this afternoon about green cleaners and a question was raised. Do green cleaners need to smell? Do they need to have a lemony scent (or any scent) for us to think they are cleaning? After years of using traditional cleaners that have strong scents (good or bad) is it hard for consumers to trust green cleaners if they don’t have a scent?
I’ve used several different green products. Laundry detergents, all purpose cleaners, dish soaps, bath soaps, and more. I have to admit the ones I tend to like the most have some kind of scent to them. A recent laundry detergent I tried had eucalyptus oil added as a fragrance and I loved it. Why? Do our senses help us make our product selections?
What do you think? Do your products have to smell? Do they work even if they don’t smell?
